Will Washington Commanders draft Jayden Daniels or Drake Maye at No. 2 overall? | FNIA | NFL on NBC

I actually hope that Washington doesn’t pick Jayden. I think it’s a no brainer that they should but I’m a “Commanders Hater” and I just don’t want them to have any chance to ruin a truly promising career. It almost surely won’t happen but I’d love to see Jayden play for the Vikings. I just think watching Jayden throw to Justin Jefferson would be electrifying. Well, unless the Vikings decide to trade every One until 2027 it probably doesn’t happen. I do think though the Vikings should consider trying to move to two, at least to do their due diligence. (For the Vikings there would be one added bonus: if they got Jayden then Justin probably signs a long-term extension. If the Vikings don’t get a really good quarterback I won’t be shocked to see Justin bail.)

Drake Maye is the guy!!! A Quaterback is succeeds in the NFL from the waist up not the waist down. Drake Maye has more tools in his tree. He can play in any system.

Washington, if you draft Daniels. You will have the same situation as the Carolina Panthers .

The athletic, big kid with an elite arm always falls. Herbert, Mahomes, Allen, Roethlisberger, etc. The obvious choice.

I love Daniels!! I'm tired of the slight build! Look at Bryce Young... he's not only small but short!! He did just fine as far as staying healthy!! I'm not worried!!
I like Maye too because of the upside but we aren't sitting him if they chose him. If he could go back to 2022 we'd all be choosing him .

Daniels will be a bust. If you the redskins, just trade back a few spots, pick up something, and get Penix or Nix. They're literally better than both Maye and Daniels

Drake Maye is not in Jaydens league point blank period. If anyone drafts Drake Maye in the 1st round, congratulations on your back up NFL QB at best.

I want your opinion, given all the analysts heaping praise on JD and also on Maye to a lesser degree, whether that means there are offers on the table or there will be offers on the clock that exceed what you normally would expect from the Rich Hill chart.
In my opinion any team that could offer Washington a fantastic haul, and drafted Daniels, the hometown headline would be how successful that GM was, not that they had given Washington the farm, and their box office would be swamped with season ticket requests.
Every channel is talking Washington sticking and picking, but logic dictates this is not what Eugene Shen is recommending if the haul exceeds a given threshold.
Based on all the fan furor and the analyst furor over the "elite" QBs I think it is only logical the offers in this pick-auction will be magnified. I cannot recall any draft where this phenomenon is so GREAT and so it stands to reason that the HAUL will be the greatest ever for the #2.
I would like you to look at the Rich Hill chart and estimate in points what you think the trade-down threshold for WAS should be. I would also like for you to take the teams NE, MIN, and NYG and with each team say what trade offer would change your mind and WAS should trade down for. I think this is the type of exercise we need right now because if you ever watch a cattle auction, for example, every bidder establishes in their mind what point they will drop out. If Washington is going to wait until they are on the clock they have to have a list of what they would take from each team for the #2, so that they can quickly respond yes or no.

After JD saying whats on His mind, His support team seen that it was going to hurt His draft stock. So they hired a damage control firm to repair His image. The thing we need to remember is that after the fifth season He will most likely leave to go to the Radars. Maye on the other hand will develop into a top QB that will want to stay and we get a top QB for 10 year. LOOK past the noise and see the future.

Daniels is not that "young" He's a fifth year player. If he didn't look a little more refined or polished that would be a huge red flag. I also don't think his frame will handle much more bulk, at least not without losing some of that speed and agility he has now. Maye however could get even bigger and it wouldn't take away from his game play. I just have more doubts with Daniels game play on how long he'll last at the NFL level and if any of the reporting about his attitude about this last meeting is true (as he is going to be expected to do all kinds of events) it makes me wonder about his character and how much of a prima donna he actually is. I want a QB that the other guys will want to run though a brick wall for. There are other intangibles you just get off watching tape alone so my opinion could be completely wrong but I've been saying it four over 2 mouths and none of these guys have changed my mind on who I want Washington to draft and it ain't Daniels.

The discrepancy between JD and Drakes floor is a larger gap than the discrepancy between their ceilings. Drake has a bit of a higher Ceiling. But JD has a muuuch higher floor.
