You forgot to mention the fact they rebelled against a legally elected regime. Keep in mind why they rebelled and tried to arrest Palpatine. Is it because they figured out his evil plot? The fact that he's engineered the war and controls both sides? Nope. They have no idea about that.
The fact that he intends to overthrow democracy and crown himself emperor? Nope. They might suspect, but they have no real evidence of that either.
The only reason they barge in the chancelor's office, lightsaber in hand, is that they discovered he's a Sith Lord. That's religious oppression! They have no clue what he's doing or if it's really evil, they only know he's a Sith and that's enough for them.

This is why we need jedi academy. It's a good book series I loved that had the jedi training process be more like a study abroad program. For young kids so not great for tiny minds BUT the students at least got to go home for spring and summer break and all that plus still had contact through like star wars phones. So definitely an improvement!

I've got a comment like that for nearly every minute of this video. Good content all in all, friends, and some good points are raised in this video, but I'm gonna have to disagree with this one overall.

I do find it funny that the kids do not have their parents around anymore. Not only could you bring the parents with them, assuming they're alive and able to actually parent these children, or you can at least have people foster these kids so they still can train all day and go back to loving parents at night. Considering the Republic was the big stronghold you think they would have done this. In Anakin's case, it made sense for him to be taken away from his mother since they were slaves. Obviously in the end it was a horrible and egregious mistake and the universe would have been better off with him not being taken in but if he had "parents" while training I think it would have helped a whole lot. Bringing his mom would have probably saved him from going off the rails.

I don't know if someone said this, to much comments but what you say is totally wrong! We have this example from history, whe Spartans took ALL the boys from their families, at age of 7. That was normal for them. And this is normal for time in Star Wars. You are talking about this from today's standards. Yes, today is different time, for everyone. But you can't say Spartans are barbaric, or Jedi order, that was normal for them. Different time, different rules!

Yes… i can think of a world where parents willingly part from their children when they’re impoverished, poor candidates for parenthood, or otherwise didn’t want their child…. OURS! Ever hear of a thing called adoption? What about abortion? There's one major thing you're missing in this whole video. The force doesn't exist in reality. You're comparing apples to oranges. Plus you can infer that the parents wanted them to join the Jedi Order. Most of these kids probably come from horrible situations and there parents want better lives for them.
