ОтветитьIn spring 2022 I was bringing a pleasure boat back from Norfolk VA to New England and the G.H.W. Bush (CVN77) was in port alongside the Gerald R Ford (CVN78), the first in the Ford class, as we sailed out. It was a very impressive sight.
Ответить2:27 am i going crazy or is that clip from top gun
ОтветитьThe Nimitz class CVN has been surpassed in size by the Gerald R. Ford class which is roughly 1000 tons heavier and at the same length of a Nimitz class. It has the electromagnetic aircraft launching system as well. Advanced recovery systems as well as reactor upgrades that generate enough electrical power to run everything currently as well as into the future with upgrades. This CVN will be in service until 2105 or so for the USS Gerald R. Ford itself.
ОтветитьThe first ever carrier strike was from HMS Furious in 1918, against a base at Tondern. 7 Sopwith Camels launched from 80 miles each carrying 2x 50lb bombs. Zeppelins L54 and L60, an observation balloon and a hydrogen store were destroyed. All Zepplin were rebased south and did not operate over UK again. All for the cost of 1 pilot lost.
ОтветитьInteresting an funny. Love the lipstick navigation!
ОтветитьHW was involved in Kennedy's assassination.
ОтветитьYea about 10 carpet bombs on the Chinese military base and along the coast line would truly Slow. China down
ОтветитьMy Dearest Friend who Passed from this Life Years Ago and Before He reached 50 was a Proud Navy Veteran 💙, I never tried of Hearing His Stories of a Time in His Life that He Cherished with Much Pride 🔔🇺🇸
ОтветитьThese expensive show pieces spend more time tied to a dock than they ever do in actual service. Not to mention the years they spend in shipyards in refits and refueling. 50 yrs in service but certainly not 50 yrs of actual use.
ОтветитьWhy do you spend billions keeping obsolete prestigious boats around like the Japanese did with the yamato? Should decomission this.
ОтветитьAhahaa. Reminds of me something we are working on. Conceptually.
ОтветитьWhat's the betting odds on the carrier defense system nullified all down the line until there's a guy using a carbine, followed by THE CAPTAIN with a pistol? Any takers?
Ответить💙
ОтветитьYankees call Trucks, Planes, aircraft carriers "She"?? I would identify heavy machinery as "He" since its masculine..
ОтветитьTHE BEST CHANNEL!!!
ОтветитьNaval aviation from the skipper all the way down to Aviation Boatswain's Mate (Aircraft Handling [ABH]) is a different animal than the rest of the Navy.
ОтветитьBig , bigger , biggest ? This is warfare and being a massive flashing target on Radar isn’t clever so when they actually do go to naval war we will find out
ОтветитьHypersonic missiles will turn all United States Navy ships and aircraft carriers into scrap metal 🇨🇳🚀🇨🇳🚀🇨🇳🚀🇨🇳🚀🇨🇳🚀🇨🇳🚀
ОтветитьImagine being 99,999.9 tons.
How embarrassing.
Talk about giving a carrier a complex.
I bet they called it Justin (just-in)
SMDH
Aircraft carriers are good against banana opponents but in war with opponents that can sink it, it becomes massive graves.
ОтветитьChina is copying after seeing this 😊
ОтветитьSo much money, time and resources that go waste on what? A temporary country symbol... it's ridiculous how stupid humans are sometimes
ОтветитьThanks, fascinating documentary.
ОтветитьThe heavier they are the faster they sink .Good for a bully war against banana republics .in a real war with the BIG BOYS china russia .wouldn't last a day .if you shoot 100 missiles at it and only 5 percent hit .it's going down to the bottom of the sea .instead of all eggs in one basket .should build many small carriers .safety in numbers
ОтветитьPlease do one of these on cruise ships

Ответить“ the flight deck is the most dangerous place to work on earth “
Alaskan Fishermen: “ hold my crab”
They're STILL gonna eventually need some kind of SHOT GUN BLAST above & below water to stop sophisticated missiles or torpedoes from getting through.
ОтветитьFun fact: The first naval-launched air raid was from Japan's Wakamiya in 1915, and also the first purpose-built aircraft carrier was the Hosho.
ОтветитьIt's really impressive, but a submarine it's mighty, it's SCARY AF
PLUSthe most murderers on the planet have theese weapons....
Ahhhhh let's invade ........... ok,ok,ok,ok oil oil oil
I'm sorry but the young pilots of the second world war were the greatest of the greatest.... these guys today are okay but they don't have to get right up on seasoned Japanese Naval aviators who had planes that way out classed them and fight them to the death.... those guys will always be the greatest of the great and the bravest of the brave! These guys today are just privileged snobs.... assholes really, let's face it!
ОтветитьOne-bomb coffin.
